American Catastrophe:
Future Trends for the Bush Administration
... and the World
 [part five]

Brief Note on Future Trends

Now that we have a basic understanding of the Bush administration the next step is to consider its future. This will be the topic of forthcoming installments, but as events are proceeding very quickly, some of the most obvious indications need to be stated here.

No military action will be taken, or at least, none that is widely publicised, before September 23rd. After this all bets are off. The Sun enters Libra and triggers the world-points, already activated by the 0° Cancer solar eclipse of June 21st, quickly followed by the Moon entering Capricorn on the September 24th. Meanwhile, with Saturn standing still in the heavens, as well as Mercury slowing to a stop – it looks like the hostilities will be in full swing by early October. From the 1st to the 3rd we'll see Jupiter, then Venus, and then Mars reach 14° of their signs, thus all joining Saturn at this degree. Meanwhile, on October 2nd there is a full moon at around 9° in the martial sign of Aries.

What this means is that the Arian Moon will gather the energy of the Sun and transfer it first to Pluto, then to Mars, and from Mars to Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn. This occurs from 22:48 GMT October 2nd to 00:38 GMT October 3rd (06:48 PM EDT to 08:38 PM EDT Oct 2nd). The astrological symbolism of all this suggests that some sort of large scale military offensive will be set in train over this time period. A fuller discussion of the meaning of all this will be posted shortly.

With the principal indicator of the current events, Saturn, going retrograde, this is very likely to be a long, drawn-out campaign. Saturn remains at 14° Gemini until the end of October, and, due to retrograde motion does not return to this degree until May 6th-13th 2002. Soon after that Saturn makes another opposition to Pluto, setting things off again, and Pluto does the same in August 2002.

After this, transiting Uranus will join the USA's Moon – an extremely significant astrological event. Using an orb of 2 degrees, this transit will be in force from February 2002 to December 2003. The last time this occurred was during WWI. This aspect, along with other general long-term influences for the USA will be discussed in another short article coming soon.

General Observations: Repeating Aspects and Outer Planetary Cycles
A basic tenet of mundane astrology is the importance of following the cycles of the outer planets, that is, their conjunctions and subsequent aspects. The waning square of Saturn to Uranus in this chart alerts us to the fact that the energies of the current 45 year cycle of Saturn and Uranus, which began with their conjunction in Sagittarius in February 1988, will be important here, as already mentioned. The current long-standing opposition of stationary Saturn and Pluto also highlights the importance of the Saturn-Pluto cycle. (Both of these cycles are very important in the history of Israel and Egypt.) I'll consider these cycles in more detail in my next article. But some pertinent observations can be made about them here.

The first square of the new Saturn-Uranus cycle occurred at the time of the great eclipse of 1999. It was an essential feature of that fixed grand-cross configuration and thus highly stimulated. However, because of the retrograde motion of both planets, this square has waxed and waned (been active or not) at various times right through to the beginning of 2001, and it makes itself felt in the administration chart too.

Given the obvious parallels being drawn between the recent attacks and the sneak attack on Pearl Harbour its worth considering whether there is an astrological connection. The last cycle of Saturn and Uranus began with their exact conjunction in late Taurus on May 3rd 1942. However, both planets had been in close contact for some time before this. On December 7 1941, when Pearl Harbour was attacked, Saturn, at 23° Taurus, was not only within orb of conjunction with Uranus at 27°, but also was exactly conjunct the then position of Algol – history repeats.

The other aspects in the administration chart – Mars in Scorpio opposing Saturn in Taurus and Mars and Saturn both square Uranus in Aquarius – are also repeats of aspects which were dominant at the time of the 1999 solar eclipse. At that time Mars at 16° Scorpio was opposing Saturn at 16° Taurus, with both square to Uranus at 14° Aquarius. In the administration chart we see Mars again at 16° Scorpio opposing Saturn at 24° Taurus, with both square to Uranus-Mercury at 16°-19° Aquarius.

Obviously, these aspects were very close at the time of the 1999 eclipse, which is why we saw the devastating expression of their energies very quickly following the eclipse of the Sun which triggered them – in the form of the earthquake in Izmit, Turkey. In the administration chart, however, the aspects are not as close, so they need to first be energised by a longer term transit and then triggered by some swifter transit for their energies to manifest. This is where the aspects which are current at the time of lunations (new and full moons) come into play. At the time of the full moon on September 2nd transiting Saturn had moved up to its station at 14° Gemini to make stressful aspects to Mars, and Pluto (at 14° Sagittarius), and an easy aspect to Mercury-Uranus.

During early September (from the 8th to the 11th) we see two swift planets, Venus and the Sun, triggering these planets at the middle degrees of their respective signs. Technically speaking this is called 'transferring light' – the energies of the planets at 14°, Saturn and Pluto, are transferred to those at later degrees, Mars and Mercury-Uranus, by the swiftly moving planets aspecting all of them in turn. Thus, the whole configuration is primed from the 8th to the 11th of September. The final trigger of the event is Mercury which reached 14° Libra around 3 a.m. EDT on September 11th and rose soon after 8:30 a.m. EDT over the east coast cities of America.

Finally, some points about the Saturn-Pluto cycle. A new 33 year cycle of these planets began on November 8th 1982. Saturn is now in exact opposition to the administration chart's Pluto and to transiting Pluto on America's Ascendant. Saturn-Pluto energy quite often manifests as "cruelty, opposition, violence and mass murder. It indicates participation in achievements brought about by large groups or masses of people, and the process of growing spiritually and mentally" (Ebertin, 1972: 188). Their cycle has to do with "very deep cultural transformations, purgations and 'resurrections'" (Harvey, 1995:183). Harvey goes on to say:
the intensely tough, purgative qualities of Saturn-Pluto can indicate periods when there is in some way a need to 'get back to basics', to the 'skeleton' of things as it were. Thus critical phases of Saturn-Pluto can lead to seeing things in black and white, so that only some kind of drastic action will suffice. In so far as Pluto has to do with collective power the Saturn-Pluto cycle would seem to be related to the unfoldment of the ordered exercise and administration (or imposition) of collective, compulsive power (1995:184).
